Why Seasonal-Regional?

Why Custom?

"One size fits all" rarely works with hats, boots, or pants. It doesn't work well with your nutrition program either. The minerals you need for your herd in May are not the same minerals you need in October. The feed your cows are on, and where they are in the gestation cycle, should dictate the mineral program. A cow in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy on crop residue or stubble has a different mineral need than a cow in late 3rd trimester being fed 100% hay. By feeding a mineral that is made to fit your unique area and needs, you can increase the efficiency of your mineral program and meet the demands of your cows.

Typically, forages in the Western United States are deficient in one or more trace minerals or vitamins. These shortfalls are the reason why cattle in the Western United States experience mineral and vitamin deficiencies at times during their production cycle.

Letting these deficiencies go uncorrected can reduce the reproductive efficiency of the herd and result in increased herd health problems. Just as a poorly tuned engine loses power and fuel efficiency, nutrient shortfalls hinder the productivity and growth of your cattle while lowering their resistance to disease.

Fine tuning the nutrition of your herd with a balanced mineral/vitamin supplement is the most effective and cost efficient way to address these deficiencies. Our RANGE COUNTRY® cattle minerals are specifically formulated for different regional soil and forage compositions, as well as seasonal influences and gestation cycles.

What Quality Products Mean to Us

It doesn't matter how good your manufacturing processes are, if you are working with bad ingredients the outcome will be inferior. That's why at Wilbur-Ellis we start our quality program with our raw ingredient suppliers. Each supplier and each ingredient must go through a series of approvals where we check for process controls, documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), traceability capabilities, any past regulatory violations, product safety, and nutritional value. We do not hesitate to turn away materials that do not meet our quality standards.

Even the carriers that transport ingredients to our facilities must pass an approval process. We check for washout records to safeguard against the possibility of contamination, verify that the ingredients are protected during transit, and that the trailer doors are properly sealed.

Once ingredients reach our facility, samples are taken and retained with our receiving records for complete traceability. At the production facility procedures are in place to ensure the highest quality in our manufacturing practices. Internal audits are randomly conducted to verify compliance with these SOPs, and all outbound loads are again sampled before being sent to the customer to ensure that you get exactly what you ordered.
